2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV // Even More Range!

The Chevrolet Bolt EV gets a nice battery upgrade for 2020, the 66kwh (up from 60) adds 34 km or 21 miles to the total range of this all electric sub-compact hatch. It’s quick, drives well and has a range of driver assistance features as an option. The trunk set up and the seating comfort let it down a little though.

We love ours, and I think the seats are fine. We were car free for 14 years before we bought it, and I've never driven such luxury. It handles like a combination street car and classic mini -- and yes, I have driven streetcars at a museum. It's a lot of fun to drive.

Funny story: I was driving north from Chicago, waiting on a light when a red Porsche stopped on my right. It's driver was THE DUDE, aviator sunglasses, heavy gold chain, open shirt, the works, and he revved his engine while we waited for the light. When it turned green, I put my foot about 1/3 of the way down and left him in my dust. He was some irked, and because I don't speed, zoomed by me a couple of seconds later. Score one for the Bolt!

Just leased a 2020 one week ago. My sentiments are very similar. I enjoy the drive, acceleration, technology, controls... basically everything except the seats. The space inside is very important because it not only distracts you from the seats but you can also shift your butt and move around on the firm foam.
I only put 7k-9k miles per year so it’s not a big deal.

Overall for me it works. I like it.

For my next EV I will be looking for more comfort and range. Of course this will require more cash. This lease cost me $844 down and $292 month. I’m sure if move into a Tesla this will double. So let’s see.

The load floor leveling shelf simply stores in the bottom of hatch area by inserting it into the lower support position where it only consumes about 2.5 cm of space. BTW the cover that attaches to the hatch is simply meant to be a luggage cover to keep out prying eyes it isn't a parcel shelf. If you want a parcel shelf one is available from Chevrolet Accessories at extra cost.
The 3 empty buttons are used in Europe and Korea for some of the functions that North American cars have on the steering wheel. As a BOLT EV Premier owner I also wish they used a different panel for the North American cars rather than 3 blank buttons.

Enjoyed the review. I purchased a 2020 Bolt Premier at the end of March. While I have not been able to take any long trips because of the Covid 19 lockdown ( including my Philadelphia to Montreal long weekend ) I find the seats comfortable, and I am a big guy. Apart from the crazy trunk panel, I really like the car, and it is so much fun to drive.

I drive a 2018 and love it. The best car I ever owned. I strongly recommend it.

The paddle behind the left side of the steering wheel is actually a harder brake lever. I use it to brake harder in one pedal driving.

You know that the shelf can be placed at the bottom of the trunk?

You should investigate more about the rear seat, since it is not "screwed", so that it can be lifted to remove the battery deactivation jumper, that is for safety!

The seats are the biggest debate ever. It's all personal preference, what fits your body type, etc. Also, the fabric seats are more comfortable in my opinion. I find the Bolt seats comfortable, and I prefer firmer seats. It's actually better for your spine for longer trips, believe it or not.

Also, you can slide the cargo floor to the bottom of the space you uncovered! Obviously, it'll take an inch away, but still, that's where you put it.

Love to see "WALMART" be the first to have about 6+ charge stations @ EVERY STORE in USA near front or side of store to buy say a 1 hour Charge! Walmart knows the Customer will have an hour+ to shop during the charge & we will know that if you go to Walmart to shop there here will be charge stations too!

It's so weird - a main complaint about this car (not just the 2020 model) has _always_ been how uncomfortable the seats are. With all the high-tech wizardry they cram into the Bolt, they still can't get the seats right. Does Chevy not pay attention to reviews at all?
