#ad It's called FREEDOM for a reason! I’ve teamed up with Ally to offer a 6-part series, “All Things Finance”, where you’ll get the progressive story of how I built my wealth and the financial lessons I’ve lived and learned along the way. I’ve always been open about my humble beginnings growing up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In this episode, I’m joined by my mom to discuss her economic hardship as a first-generation immigrant family, and how they were able to find financial freedom despite these hurdles.

My grandmother raised her kids with the same mentally. "Just because we are poor doesn't mean we have to look sloppy" and my mother passed this down to her kids as well. I think, especially as latinos being raised in low-income communities, our appearance is important to lower the already preconceived notions people will have about us. It is an important lesson I still carry on till this day.

Wish all Puerto Rican Moms were like this. Supportive, loving, and wanting the best for their kids. Adrienne, thank you for putting this out there. I hope others see this and change their perspective on parenting and teaching their kids Abt finances. Much love from LES. ❣️✨🎉

I love your mom I wish I had one like that!! There’s nothing like respect between a mother and daughter and that’s something you must earn mutually but starts with moms.

It's such a blessing to hear Adrienne speak about her grandmother. And to hear Nilda speak about how she grew up and how she raised Adrienne and Claudette. Nilda made the most of her finances. And so did her mother. That's a great legacy.

Your grandma and mom remind me so much of my ma . She will figure things out no matter what the budget is . Since we were very young she always made sure all of us were bathed, well dressed and had everything we needed no matter our economic troubles . It makes us really appreciate them so much for instilling all these habits and qualities in us . Thanks for sharing Adrienne 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍

I can definitely see how your mom raised the beautiful, successful, kindhearted women you and Claudette are today, cherish her always !

Send my love to mama Nilda 💕💕💕💕

We need a "Mama Nilda's Life Lessons" video series. Her advice is always practical and on target. We're never too young nor too old to learn something that can enrich our lives. Thank you, Adrienne, for sharing your mother with us.

Hi A. This episode moved me deeply. My mom came from PR in the early 50’s. She also was a single parent with 4 children. We lived en el Barrio (Spanish Harlem). She didn’t get much schooling and she had to lean on public assistance as well. I grew up with the same values. We never went to bed hungry, are lights and electricity were never shut off. She was my role model and it’s what I taught my daughters.

I lost my mummy back in 2017. So I really love and enjoy this episodes with you and mama Nilda. She reminds me of my mummy, she also had short hair like your mama. So all I want to say is thank you for always sharing your mummy with us. I appreciate it❤️🌸

On my birthday when I turned 8 we flew into LA right after Richard Ramirez (The Night Stalker) was cought. It was announced on the plane by the pilot that he was apprehended. I'll never forget that💗💛
