Anytime I hear a Stelling Staghorn it reminds me of mid-70s Allen Munde records. Absolutely love Allen's playing and tone. You're definitely capturing it with your playing and that fine banjo.

I own a 1979 Super Star and it blows the doors off. Finest Banjo I ever played or heard. This Staghorn sounds great... of course ! Nice playing too !

I have played a couple of Stelling banjos, a sunflower and a staghorn and I have always been impressed with them and by them and I think they really suit bluegrass with tone and a deeper sound and bass response low down, very nice video Ben.

I bought a Gibson rb250 when I was in the army in 1978 think I paid about 800 for it. I still use it its in great shape, but over the years I do drool when I see a Stelling  . I could actually afford a Stelling but to be honest my Gibson is like an old friend . In 1971 I taught myself to play banjo from the Earl Scuggs book and Earl used a Gibson, so there you go, ,,hope I used the right "there" don't wanna put people in panic mode haha

My friend has an early Staghorn -one of the first, but to my surprise it was an arch top. Is this better than your Huber? I have one of those.

I always wonder why someone would part with such a beautiful instrument? I have my great grandfather's fiddle which of course I would never sell, and while I did sell/trade many guitars over the years the ones I have now are like old friends that I would not like to part ways with. (I actually wish I still had my Yamaha FG 280 circa 1975; my first "good" guitar!)

Love the banjo, and love the tune. What is the tune called and how about teaching us how to play it? 😁
