Now, it has spiralled into a broader geopolitical issue, with the Maldives calling on China for help. In this video, The Hindu looks at the data to understand the impact of the unofficial boycott, and how China is helping the Maldives fill the gap left by India.

Here comes the garbage from the Hindu. Boycott Maldives was not by " some" Indians but by millions of Indians. An article published in the Hindu claimed that only few Indians cancelled their trip to Maldives, but in reality it was more than 20 per cent cancellations. The article also tried to project as if medical visa diversification attempt by the Maldivian government will hurt India in equal terms which is not true.

Well, well, a usual biased “the Hindu” report; also surprised by its nativity.
Chinese do not provide free lunches like India. Let them embrace China--GOOD for them; there will be a China town in Male, and more debt. A Navy base in Lakshadweep will neutralize the perceived strategic advantage of Maldives. Americans will be even more concerned than India about China in Maldives—their important Digo Garcia base is not far away.
India should withdraw its hospital staff from Male-- and let them have Mandrian speaking high-cost Chinese staff paid for by people of Maldives and the hospital. Chinese do not provide free medical care to their own people, will they to Maldivians? They can go to UAE and Thailand for treatment at a much higher cost. In economics there are no free lunches. GOOD for Maldives.

First
Hindu publishes Suppliment on CPC's (Communist Part of China ) plenary meetings. That's the relationship .

Second :
China is not in a Mood or in a possition to allocate funds to Maldives as its going through a financial crisis ( Evergande 3 trillion Crash in Hingkong share markets )

Third :
China never give a loan/assistance to any country for free - forget about budgetary assistance.

Honestly speaking this analysis is not upto the scale.

Fact check: decline in the number of Indian tourists can be manageable easily, but in long run it could be a concern. Because Maldives is investing huge to diversify its tourism and attract huge volume of tourists from around the world, currently Maldives is approaching only tourists who can spend the amount omney what property owners wants. However in future tourism master Plane both India & Chinese tourists gona play a huge in Maldives tourism, business and labours form both countries too, especially in logistics service area and real estate. So having a strong relationship with India is vital for Maldives especially for future.

Boycott from India not to hurt Maldives financially. Very bad journalism from HINDU. No customer want to buy from any seller who has bad view/respect for their customers. (bad body and room smells etc.) BBC did better job than HINDU. Even though both are good at bad journalism.

Most Maldivian people have a positive attitude towards India.

Maldivians are educated soft spoken and decent people and tourism industry in maldives is super class.

Govts will come govts will go.. let us not both citizens destroy century old ties between maldivians and Indians by making insensitive comments on social media.
