İskender Kebap
For Sauce:
1 large tomato
1 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp pepper paste
1 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp red pepper
2 cups hot water
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp olive oil
For Bread:
2 slices bread or pita
1 tbsp butter
Preparation tips:
Slice a large tomato and pour 1 tbsp olive oil, sprinkle salt and black pepper. Bake it in the 450F for 15 minutes. Peel the tomato and blend it.
While making the sauce, fry the tomato and pepper paste and blended tomato on low heat for at least 5 minutes. Add 2 glasses of water little by little as you keep stirring. Cook the sliced pide bread on low heat for 3 minutes and add 1 tbsp of butter and cook for 1 more minutes.
Cook döner slices in butter or 1 tbsp olive oil (about 30 seconds on each side, on high heat).
Add 1/2 to 1 tbsp melted butter before serving.
