Thanks. As a former broadcast engineer, I am considering getting back into the game, and your video cleared up any questions I had about this unit

100% recommend LiveU for reliability, have been using the original solos for a couple of years. Recently got the new SoloPro with SDI and only caveat with the Pro is there is a problem with the HDMI input if you're passing it through an Atomos monitor which is how I normally record my program feed before passing it into the LiveU. This was never a problem on the old Solo but the new Pro version has this HDMI issue so I've had to move to SDI from my Atomos output instead.

Nice one! I’ve had pretty good luck also with live u encoders :) although I’d highly suggest for streaming to YouTube to stream in 30 or 60 because YouTube will convert it to those regardless of the frame rate you send it.. which sucks since we are in PAL countries but it does a really bad conversion so the footage looks really stuttery.. I did a video showing the comparison a little while ago :) I almost exclusively stream in 30 these days because of it unless the client requests otherwise

Could Always push to a restream platform like castr . They accept SRT and can do transcoding on their higher plans

Correction, Blackmagic Web Presenter already streams SRT thanks to a firmware upgrade. Nevertheless, I have a Solo as well, excellent for out field streaming. The LRT service is a must have in my opinion.

We use BMD, Teradek, and LiveU. What I don’t like on the LiveU is the lack of using a SD card to make a backup recording in the device itself. It is totally developed and designed for portable use. Difficult to use in a indoor situation. The power is over a easy to lose USB-C connection.

Bonjour,

Product is very good no doubt . But joining four modems of different netwoks by using ( Y original cable ) missfire problems even after all signals in good strength .

Hi what would be the best solution for ultra low latency? ie less then 2 seconds for live interviews ect?

I would love to request a review of the Disaster Group Router if you have a chance! It is not a dedicated encoder, but it is a cellular bonded router that has is apparently very reliable (at least according to some reviews I have read).

It is portable :) Sadly it doesn't have AV1 encoding. Internet in my country is far cheaper but one pays for convenience to get worldwide coverage.
Scaling it up to a wan would make sense to use a PC with AV1 capable video card, Teltonika RUTX50 5G Gateway, and an external 4 x 4 MiMo Omnidirectional antenna.

I’m looking to get something like this for my classroom. I was worried about the monthly fees, but that’s good to know that I can do a month to month basis as I need it.

So, for me to get started, it’s $1495+$450+$45+$165 to test out one month of unlimited live stream from anywhere that has cellular data service?

I wish this could be H265 or AV1 for better performance

Same here . .. Been through teradek debacles over the years and refuse to use them anymore. Terrible support and completely unreliable. Now using LiveU solo pro and very happy even with Australia's terrible internet.

Is it possible to connect two Ethernet connections?

The fact that you have to pay for the LiveU LRT subscription to stream via SRT is poor. Magewell do not hold you to ransom for SRT.
