I was 8 when I got into Pokemon and it CONSUMED my entire life! I decided to become Ash Ketchum… I would only wear baseball caps and unzipped jackets. XD I REALLY wanted those fingerless gloves too. I had to do peace signs in every photo taken of me, and whenever I’d lose a game or something, I’d do that super dramatic Ash thing where he kneels down and looks all depressed! XD What’s even funnier is that a few people in my community picked up that I was obsessed with Pokemon because of how I acted. 😭

I’m half Japanese and Japanese is my first language, but I never once thought that anime was cool for some reason! I was more attracted to cartoons and short films. So I found it really cute whenever a girl would come up to me and ask “Hey how do you say this in Japanese?” And though it was really embarrassing to speak in a different language for her, it was worth it because there was always that one girl that would smile so brightly over just a few words. I guess she was really interested in the language! This video just reminded me of her. I still have her phone number since elementary school. I might just call her. Thanks Yoon!

I’m autistic so trust me when I say that I talked about Pokemon more than you did and asked about Pokemon to many strangers so many times as a kid, that my mom literally had a therapist helped me in having a normal conversation. Most of us Pokemon fans never had someone close to talk to but knew deep down, someone gets Pokemon. But they were sadly far away no matter what, and we just have to control ourselves to not bother people who don’t know what’s going on.
