Tai Chi Tuishou and Qinna - joint control and submission

Показать описание
Tai chi has many joint control and submission techniques. But on their own, techniques do not work. We train structure, sensitivity, alignment and understanding in order to develop a method for making the technique applicable. That structure is developed during practice of the solo routine and zhan zhuang. The method is cultivated during tuishou practice.

I wonder if a wrist lock has ever actually been used successfully outside of a demonstration? Always good, food-for-thought videos, although the old 'hand in the pocket' nonplussed approach isn't needed.

Respect sir. I think your easily the best teacher on line I've come across, as an English speaker. I love the emphasis on relaxation, and maintaining stillness. You exhibit a working knowledge of the over all Tai Chi philosophy, and it's culture of origin, as well as the inner science of mindfulness. My wife and I do Yang 24 simplified form, and we enjoy your humorous teaching style, it's very engaging. Thanx for all the expert advice, and generosity. Peace & Love.

Very impressive and with no malice or intent to create fear in the practice partner.

Mr. Ian, do you want to come in Croatia (all expenses payed) and make a seminar to our Taiji practitioners ?

Ian, please consider making a video where you demonstrate/discuss what it feels like to control someone -- as in, control their center or their spine, as opposed to just twisting their arm or wrist.

Thanks for explaining Taiji in a practical way and not hiding behind manipulative mysticism. Levers and making the opponent's feet your own: brilliant! We gwailous have been and continue to be misled by many of the so-called "masters" who feed us crumbs to keep u$ around while they fea$t on the whole loaf! Much respect and gratitude, Sifu.
