That is so cool to have the multiple pulleys. I found a treadmill DC motor thart I am going to modify so that i do not have to wire up a three phase. You found a really good one and a deal at that.

Tool @ 25.55 is a tap holder for small taps so they are held perpendicular to the face.

Nice lathe. Lathes are often spec'd by the size of the spindle bore, the bigger the better. That lever style collet closer was a score. Looks like you have both types of collet closers. You should embrace 3 phase power as most industrial machinery runs off of it and it is super easy to make your own. VFD's are a last resort I'd say. If you guy's get the machine tool bug, and I think you've already caught it, you will get more machines and will need three phase power for sure. Good luck with the lathe.

Super cool my friend. I just purchased. a Southbend but yours is way nicer than mine. I hope to see some awesome projects as I am a new subscriber. I will be starting a Youtube channel with the build of a Morgan 1928 3 wheel Brooklands style race car with 4 wheels...

I would suggest in getting a static or rotary phase converter over using a vfd. Three phase equipment is usually easier to get and cheaper because most people don’t have it and won’t spend the extra money for it.

Kurt and Nick good to see you guys. Great find on the lathe. Towards the end of the video you mention something looks like a puller, that is actually a no twist clamp. It works like a “C” clamp but the design keeps it from twisting on odd surfaces like “C” clamps will. The cutters at the end are face mills for cutting flat surfaces into a work piece. Definitely try to find a milling machine
