I think Dave should provide more information about how wealth works, how to leverage debt, which ones are good and bad, the benefits of cashflow and business expensing to achieve that with a low tax burden. Life style business advantages. A complete picture of wealth. Live below your means, don't buy shit you don't need. Don't spend money you don't have. Look into if you even NEED a degree to do what you need to do, because the price of college is an actual issue in the US.

But on the other side, if he's going to tell people to get a job, he should tell them the reality of corporate life and how jobs are not secure and no degree will provide security. How companies can lie to you, etc.

He should talk about how to leverage skills for more money without another fixed income. He should talk about how to build a product. Sell a product. Provide a service. Solve a problem.

What about if his audience doesn't 'want' a side hustle? Well too bad, I'm sure they don't want to eat beans and rice either. Having a side hustle teaches actual skills to build wealth and gives more security and control over your life than a fixed income job.

And imo he should do all of this without the bias of religion. By not doing this, he alienates people who aren't the same religion, or maybe even non religious people, but I'm sure there are exceptions.

I just don't think the advice he gives deserves a massive amount of praise. 'THANKS DAVE! YOU CHANGED MY LIFE!' No....you changed your life, you paid off your debt, while probably getting 129.99 dollars more in debt with financial peace university to learn how to not spend money you dont have. Don't thank Dave, thank yourself. You put in the work.

TL;DR The picture he provides of wealth is incomplete.

On the topic of Dave bragging about his networth and his devout faith I'd like to remind him of the verse -

Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.” - Matthew 19:21-24

Dave is the epitome of "Well back in my day I had a house, a family, and two cars and I only made $1.50/hr." Those days are over boomer.

Interesting how Dave tells parents to make their kids stand on their own two feet. Meanwhile his kids are executives at his company.

Dave is basically a televangelist. And we all know how sheep’s flock to them.

I enjoy Dave's show from time to time because my life doesn't seem so screwed up in comparison to some of the callers.

I stopped listening to Dave Ramsay when he told a pregnant woman who was already working forty hours to take on an extra job. In case I have to spell it out to anyone that’s a sure fire way to get high blood pressure or worse. I was just so shocked.

Most " how to become a millionaire gurus" don't actually become millionaires through the advice they teach.

His advice boils down to "Don't have any fun, because fun costs money" and "Get married" even though that's a 50/50 shot at financial ruin for any man these days.

Dave: "You're gonna need to work 3 or 4 jobs"

Employers: "we're gonna need to let you go for working another job".

Dave's advice helped me when I was straight out of highschool and was struggling to pay for my basic necessities. Now that I'm not struggling to eat day to day his advice is WORTHLESS. I know how to save money because of Dave but I don't know squat about side hustles, stocks or anything about making extra money so I can retire because let's face it, unless you put a crapton into a 401k every paycheck your job's "retirement plan" isn't going to allow you to retire at an acceptable age. Also I think Dave is a Karen builder. One of the things he suggests is to walk into stores with cash and try to barter with employees like with pretty much any kind of product except food which I can 100% say I tried at first when I didn't know anything and got laughed out the door.

To be fair to Ramsey, most of his callers are in a hole, they shouldn’t really be looking for cash flow assets.

I came into this liking Dave Ramsey but knowing how he made his money, this video is very true and raises red flags about him and about a lot of these “financial gurus” that make their money only by their course.
