0:45 if you turn off frame skip in multiplayer and you and your friend don’t have matching framerates it can crash the game. A friend of mine was using zenith at 60 fps and my computer would crash when on 144+ fps. This also can happen with the starlight.

another thing is that all tools except one (or two if counting the drill containment unit) dig in 1 block at a time
**now if only we had a hallowed upgrade to the gravediggers shovel or something, allowing it to dig up to t3 hardmode ore including it, in a 3x3 if not a 5x5**

If you want to dig faster than gravity can allow a typical character, there's always the slime/queen slime Mount. Falls significantly faster than base character. Only issue is you're taller so digging sideways is less practical and you can't fall through liquid

I wonder what other pickaxes can make it to max speed given the new perma buff from item obtained from shimmer. (Also other things such as mining armor). It’s something I wonder about

Mining is normally extremely tedious but when you are mining at Max speed it's actually super fun

Personally I like using DCU because it's just fast and super controllable, also it auto hammers some blocks when I want to dig out things like a pond. It being able to mine walls now also makes it MUCH better than most other mining options when it comes to fully clearing out areas. People will say Celebration MK II is better, but it's only really comparable in Journey Mode. If you're playing any other mode, you have to take into account the cost of the rockets.

The best option, the Mini Nuke II, requires Rocket IV and Shroomite Bars. Rocket IVs are only available during a Solar Eclipse and cost 5 silver each, making one craft of Mini Nuke IIs cost 5 Gold. You also need a Shroomite Bar per craft, which are just really annoying to get thanks to Chlorophyte being a pain to farm.

Yes, the DCU has a MUCH higher initial cost with the 40 Chlorophyte, Shroomite, and Luminite Bars, but you only need to craft it once, whereas you'll constantly need to be crafting rockets. Again, the DCU also just has MUCH more control than the Celebration MK II, so that's why in my opinion, it's just better.

You don't know how disappointed I was to craft the Nebula Pickaxe and find that it was actually slower than the Shroomite Digging Claw. Pathetic.

I recently completely destroyed a world and I've found the best way is to divide the terrain in large segments around 3 screens wide and 4 screens tall and go down through sections on a hovering mount with celebration mk II with mini nuke II + ammo box buff + ammo reservation potion and then sweep back up with the DCU for the remaining blocks, hardmode ores and chests. Took me just over 20k mini nukes and around a week of playing on and off.
