I live in Hillsdale county and I remember that I was outside riding my atv until the storm started and we all went inside and the some moments later we got a tornado warning and I got really scared. I was only 12 years old then

I was down in my living room and the gale force headline winds blew through and the sirens went off. I had to go to Work and so did my dad but up in Lansing, Luckily the plant has back up generators and back ups to those. I go to call BATA and I get the disconnected tone, and I'm like shoot they lost power too! Our house is close to the hospital and is tied to about eight points on the grid so we didn't loose power. We head out after the weather cleared and several of the old maples and oaks had fallen over US12. We had to back track down through a very unscathed part of town but we almost hit a fallen tree in the countryside. Former Coworker had to drive clear out to Jackson then head west from Union City because Hodunk was basically a salad bowl of fallen trees!
Quincy Schools were out of session and some of the High School Seniors who worked on their families farms were out clearing the debris.
Boss had to take 10 detours to get from Indiana up to here, and a lot of trees have since been removed and felled and Sauk River Drive has a new bike trail because all the trees were removed.
At Clemens there was nobody there, The Trucks were basically nowhere in sight and it was a slow day.
We went through Quincy on Sunday and it looked like a war zone!
It was worse than Coldwater and it got worse the further east you went.
A tree was spearheaded through someone's garage. BATA reopened later that day and Consumers Energy Hauled But to get the power back on!
