Slavery, Dispossession, and the Way Forward for Universities

In 2015, Rutgers University launched the Scarlet and Black Project to investigate the university's historic ties to slavery, Native American dispossession, and racial injustice. Under the direction of two distinguished historians, Professor Marisa Fuentes and Professor Deborah Gray White, the project has published two volumes of research and is preparing a third.
