Polish uses the same thing for 'dude' we use 'stary' which pretty much means oldie, or old man and German uses Alter/Alda which I'm guessing is either the same or pretty similar.. In translation at least.

My dialect's version of Alter is used as a term of endearment, meaning the one whom you plan on growing old with. It would be pretty creepy to just say that to a friend.

ich hab auf deine Erklaerung von "Arschgeweih" gewartet und war ein wenig entaeusched das es nicht mit dabei war -  "Arschgeweih" is the german word for tramp stamp (a tribal tattoo right above your butt/lower back) and if you translate it word for word it means "assantlers"...
