preview_player
Показать описание
Quick and easy method for students to calculate the equivalent resistance of a Parallel Circuit using the inverse key of their calculators. If you would like to know how we know the formula for Parallel Resistance chick out this Khan Academy video.

If on your computers calculator you do not find the "1 /x" key or a "x-1 " key, change the settings from standard to scientific, or vice a versa.
Here is an online calculator with the right key.

You Sir, just helped me realize that I had terrible teachers for physics. Thank you for letting me get back to loving electronics.

This reminds me of a stand in teacher I once had in year 7. She looked at the way we were being taught fractions and said "nay, I'll show you a faster way". Jaw dropping. The old antiquated ways should be abolished. Thank you!

One thing that is also helpful is that when you have 2 resistors you can use Rtotal=(R1*R2)/(R1+R2) which is the same if u do the algebra for yourself.

Finally found something that I can relate to. I’m in my second semester for HVAC, electric motors. My teacher is all over the place and I’m having a hard time with word problem calculations for ohms law and how to follow the schematics; starting with where the power or current is coming into a motor and how it moves throughout the machine. I’ll check out what else you have but I appreciate the video, it definitely help a ton!!!

Mate, this video really helped me, I have had a shocker of a teacher at tech, that explained nothing and just expected us to know all. I never did physics or algebra at high school so videos like this help out so much

Thanks so much. I was only shown the calculation without any explanation, now I understand how to calculate it myself 👍

This helped me so much, I have never been good at physics but this made it make so much more sense. I have watched so many videos and this one is the only one that makes sense

I have been trying to remember how I used to calculate parallel resistance in college, this calculator method is amazing and so much easier I wish I had known about it years ago. Thank you so much.

Hi, in my comment/review, I could add fancy words detailing my appreciation for this video. These words would tell you how much you've saved me from missing specific test questions. That your input, guidance, and wisdom were (are) exceptionally helpful. Instead of all of that, I will say THANK YOU!!
