Ep.1 Candida auris: A Resistant Fungal Infection | Medscape TV

Показать описание

First described by Japanese scientists in 2009 after it was isolated from the external ear canal of an inpatient in a Japanese hospital, Candida auris has since made its appearance in more than a dozen countries on five continents.

C. auris is the first multidrug-resistant species of yeast ever identified, and unlike other types of pathogens, has been shown to be hospital-acquired. It can cause serious bloodstream infections, may spread between patients, and can survive for extended periods on common hospital room surfaces. As of July 2017, 98 cases have been reported across nine US states, with concentrations in New York and New Jersey. Up to 60% of patients infected with C. auris have died.

Infectious disease experts at Hackensack Meridian Health are on the alert for C. auris. They discuss the implications of the emerging threat of multidrug-resistant fungus and the need for increased surveillance as well as strategies for isolation, especially among those at highest risk, including intensive care and immunocompromised patients.

When I was at the peak of my candida infection, I suffered from food intolerances, skin rashes (erythema), skin fungal infections like ringworm, blurry vision, blood sugar whiplashes, a bit of hair loss, low energy, never-ceasing bloatiness..
After much research in the matter, I've learned that it was my bad eating habits as well as bad hygiene habits and bad exercise habits that the were the main cause of candida overgrowth. It all started when I moved out of my parents house for the first time to go to college.
I travelled half way across the country. I lived alone in college apartments. I didn't know how to cook so everything I ate was processed crap. I later found a job at Walgreens. Junk food and candy were such easy access for me at work, I bought a bag-full after each shift and ate it all at home everyday. And when I say everyday .. i mean everyday. Weekends were 2 large pizzas from Pizza Hut that was literally only a couple feet from my apartments. I noticed a small little pimple on my arm that was very itchy. I didn't pay much attention to it.
After 8 months, I realized I couldn't afford my college tuition so I returned home. Months after seeing that little pimple, it turned into a large fungal infection. Not knowing much about fungal infections, I just washed it with normal soap. Next thing I knew, I had multiple infections all over my arms. I wore long sleeves to hide them.
I also noticed that I could no longer consume certain things like milk or too much sugar. One day, I drank a half gallon of chocolate milk which kept me in and out of the bathroom all night lol I NEVER had a problem with milk or chocolate milk before any of this. Also, I had this never-ending bloatiness that was very bothersome.
I found a new job back home as a driver for Enterprise Car Rentals. Lunch was usually snacks from gas station stores. Sugar sugar and to drink .. sugar. The rashes were getting worse. I would bleed as I scratched them.
At this point, I was starting to gain weight. Friends & family immediately noticed as I was usually very skinny .. I used to be an avid soccer player.
Then, the one thing I did to topped it all off was becoming a long distance truck driver. I would eat nothing but the trashiest of foods from truck stops, terrible hygiene habits, I couldn't shower everyday like I like, and definitely no exercise. I gained a ton of weight. This is where I started noticing the more severe symptoms like erythema, cutaneous candidiasis, hair loss, blood sugar whiplashes, a bit of hair loss, blurry vision .. . I found myself treating fungal infection after fungal infection all over my arms and some on my legs inside my truck very often .. too often. I also started noticing some skin infections didn't respond to the antifungal medication I was applying. I later learned it was cutaneous candidiasis (erythema) caused by leaky gut and not an actual superficial fungal infection.
Unfortunately, i had to let it get this far in order for me to start taking action.
I quit my job and went on a 3-day water fast. Then I got on a strict candida diet. I did that for 3 months. I took several natural remedies against candida i.e. probiotics, l-glutamine, enzymes, apple cider vinegar, grass-fed meat, and oregano oil. Oregano oil was a real game changer, that stuff is really strong but it works lol It got rid of my erythema which I was having a hard time getting rid of. Overall now, I'm doing a lot better. I lost a lot of weight, I have no rashes or superficial fungal infections anymore, my hair is thick and healthy again. I'm no longer at the peak of candida infection but I suspect I still have some. I still have some subcutaneous skin lesions that I suspect are remnants of candida trying to hide. So I'm going on another candida battle to finish it off once and for all.

The fungus started in multiple countries at around the same time, but has different mutations. Yet the CDC claims they are not connected. Very strange.

I believe I got that kind of fungus. They have told us it's eczema, but most of us friends and close family have gotten it from each other. I have tried EVERYTHING and it doesn't go away.

There’s way more to this one. You’ll need to go all the way back to 1054 and “The Great Schism” between the Eastern Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church regarding the implementation of Leavened vs Unleavened bread. They knew the potential health hazards of fungi from back then. Affects the mind, body and spirit in many harmful ways.

This is as real, painful and deadly as COVID 19. Doctors have told me for 2 years, "Everyone has yeast, We cant say its Candida" at this point Im passing yellow pus and spores from bowels. So are hundreds of others while Utah doctors just scratch their heads stating they've never heard of this. CDC needs to get on this one too!!

I like the way she says we shouldn't assume that everything we know is everything to be known about a species and doing more testing to fully understand. In hindsight it's perfectly logical, but in the real world "there's nothing to worry about until there's something to worry about". After all, there's no tax break for preventing something that's not going to happen, it has to happen to make a profit from it.

My grandmother just died of fungal pneumonia caused by Candida Non Albicans. She is 86 years old and the fungus was resistant to the antibiotics and medicines given to her.

Fungus are trying to grow mushrooms like growth in my feet. Some fungus have mutated and can get into us humans then into the feet. If it gets into the gut, it can cause waste to drain into the foot. I hope medical science can find a way to defeat this because it is spreading although doctors are not realizing how bad it is.

Antifungal treatment with Taxol/Retin A will result in a yeast infection. Yeast are very different than fungus. The antifungals can also be used on plasmodium/malaria . The list in my education are Taxol a danger of sudden death erythrosorbate ferrosemide. Which not very toxic sodium benzoate and sorbitol . Strong tea is the only systemic treatment for yeast I could find.

Fungal/ aspergillus has increased in recent years, one contributing factor is the international marijuana craze. A whole group of people i know got sick and didnt know why. I suspected aspergillus, later a friend was diagnosed with a fungal stomach infec. The drs. here cant figure it out, they simply dont know how to test for it correctly, nor do they know what medicines to prescribe.
Through personal experience garlic, acv, cloves, cayenne pepper, ginger and turmeric all assist to cleanse but i had to use meds as well.

It presents itself differently between people. I have suffered from a symptom/condition called torticolis. I am recovering now. However, diagnosis was very elusive.

I had a vaginal polyp, and went for a vaginal ultrasound, and seem to have contracted an extremely virulent yeast that does not respond to clotrimazole, miconazole, or fluconazole. These seem to be all there is. I am going to try boric acid suppositories I think after watching someone on here. And trying to get my body to basically be a more healthy pH by eating some different things like coconut oil, garlic, lemon, ginger, apple cider vinegar. I have an infection of it now under my "fat apron"...there HAS to be a way. My age, post menopausal 68, and diabetic who is trying, but the older body tends to be more alkaline than the younger ones, I've heard---THAT doesn't help.
