Introducing... the 'güiro' bow, named after the ridged percussion instrument.

The Orchestra will perform with these custom-made bows, developed with Sebastian Collen, in Jakub Jankowski's new work, 'Ritornello', which receives its world premiere performance in our 'Tognetti. Mendelssohn. Bach' tour, which starts tomorrow.

What an extraordinary effect! We can't wait to hear the full work.

Tognetti. Mendelssohn. Bach.' tours to Newcastle, Melbourne, Adelaide, Canberra, Brisbane, Sydney and Wollongong, 5–23 September.

Gorgeous sound! Does it damage the strings, at all? Would the musicians be switching their instruments/strings out, especially for extended use?
