I've had to integrate Laravel with LDAP and Snowflake recently and I had to do OS level drivers, install php extensions and compiler tools on the server to get this going. It's like this on every project just like you said. Some unique thing that makes it a challenge and something you've probably never done or maybe once long ago.

If I had met 60% of the requirements, but what if I don't have portfolio as evidence to prove I had them ? Do I need to build web portfolio to prove the ability I have to get the job from the company ?

Also for all job applications require php and laravel. I studied tutorial and i create simple websites with php. But for creating ecommerce or hard application on php I need more education. I can create application and ecommerce site with laravel but not with pure php. Should I need learn php or continue with laravel?
