Investing in measuring progress towards the SDGs

Показать описание
Without essential data, governments and organizations struggle to shape effective policies, encourage investment, target programmes, and measure progress towards sustainable development. FAO has thus included among the priorities of the Portfolio of Opportunities for Expanded Partnership and Investment a programme on “Measuring the SDGs: Improving country data for monitoring SDG achievements and informing policy decisions”. This Programme aims at increasing the availability and quality of statistics to inform decision-making on the SDGs. In particular, it will assist countries in mainstreaming the SDG data needs into national statistical programmes, as well as in collecting, reporting on and using the 21 SDG indicators under FAO custodianship in their evidence-based decision process. This video gives an overview of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the importance of monitoring the 169 targets associated with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
