Words do matter. I can attest to that. I was told bad things by one of my parents. Said I would never amount to anything and that I shouldn’t be their child but my cousin should have been. Teachers also spoke words of discouragement to me and w believed this was who I was. In 11th grade one teacher actually told me I should be straight A’s and best student in his class but didn’t believe him. It almost destroyed my life but God was always with me. It’s taken a long, time to get better.

This sermon reminds me of Andrew Carnegie's three C's. "Don't *criticize, complain or condemn* "
I'm still working on that after 30 years of trying. It slips out sometimes. My anger hasn't gotten any better either. I pray about it often, but it's so hard and also just slips out on occasion. At least I'm not smashing people in the face anymore.
