The recording sessions Little Richard cut for Specialty are among the most important (and enjoyable) in the history of pop music. Richard Wayne Penniman (born December 5, 1932), known by his stage name Little Richard, is an American recording artist, songwriter, and musician. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for over six decades. Penniman's most celebrated work dates from the mid-1950s where his dynamic music and charismatic showmanship laid the foundation for rock and roll. His music also had a pivotal impact on the formation of other popular music genres, including soul and funk. Penniman influenced numerous singers and musicians across musical genres from rock to rap.

This song was always my favorite of his. I know, it was written by Louis Jourdain, but I love this version where the band sounds as if they're playing while falling down a flight of stairs. Rock and Roll chaos. RIP Little Richard.

Anybody else notice the tape warp at 0:31 during the sax solo? I grew up listening to my dad’s copy and I wondered if it was a issue with just his copy of the 45. Then I got one of my own later and heard the same thing! It appears that the warp was in the master and every copy has it.

I believe I still have this one in my collection. Along with classmate Charles Hickenlooper, I was a huge fan. My vintage: 1943.
