3- 90% of life is just showing up.

Advice that helped me be disciplined. You learn discipline doing small tasks. Why do you think guys in the army you have to make your bed first thing? You learn discipline. Write every day daily, weekly and monthly goals. Except for daily, make weekly and monthly achievable but not easy to achieve, like just in time. The deadline is a must. Don't make yourself a slave. Do your goals but at the end of the reward yourself with dopamine by doing something that you like or really nothing just enjoy. Your days don't have to just work and accomplishing tasks, just work on them daily. If you feel anxious by doing your tasks, start small, and then go from there.

As soon as this pandemic started, I took for myself that if I come out of this period without learning 2 or 3 new things, then “lack of time” was just a lame excuse.

I like the five second rule by Mel Robbins. When you count to three you can easily just continue counting, but when you count backwards 5 4 3 2 1, your brain has to reset because it doesn't know where to go after you get to the number 1. By doing this technique your brain has a chance to reset and refocus on the task you need to get done. I think it's important to mention too that your brain can get stressed and overworked after 2 hours of continuously working, so every two hours just take a couple minutes to close your eyes and use a slow breathing in and out technique that will release all the tension in your body and mind so you feel refreshed and able to continue working. There are plenty of breathing techniques you can find here on Youtube, Just explore and find the one that feels right for you. Save it to your playlist and your good to go.

I have written a few sentences on the first page of a new notebook which I refer to frequently in the mornings. In fact, I have written them on a piece of paper which I got laminated and pasted on the kitchen prominently so that it is a perennial reminder.
The FIRST sentence is:
POWER OF DISCIPLINE is better than PAIN OF REGRET.
(Other sentences read like this:
YOU ARE WHAT YOU THINK.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT.
and a few more.)
Try this. It will help you immensely (as it does to me) to use self-discipline as a powerful tool to change your life positively and to enjoy physical, mental and emotional health.
I am 71 years old and I have derived these benefits.
