Oh, what a beautiful day! In July 2023, the magic and energy of live theatre is coming to cinemas around the globe with the National Theatre’s acclaimed, Olivier Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Starring then-newcomer Hugh Jackman (Les Misérables, The Greatest Showman) as Curly, alongside Maureen Lipman, Josefina Gabrielle and Shuler Hensley, this riveting stage production was filmed during its record-breaking 1998 run in London.

Directed by theatre legend Trevor Nunn (CATS, Les Misérables) with new choreography by Susan Stroman, Oklahoma! features some of musical theatre’s most delightfully hummable songs, including “Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin’,” “The Surrey With The Fringe On Top” and the joyous title tune, “Oklahoma”. Now one of the most beloved musicals ever to grace the stage is coming to the big screen 80 years after it first premiered on Broadway. Grab your friends and ride your surrey to a cinema near you!

Hope to see this in south east Asia.

My fave musical. Practically memorised whole movie dialogue ( Gordon macrea and Shirley Jones)

Howard keel and Gordon mcrea would have been proud of HJ performance.

This must have been been filmed at The Lyceum Theatre on The Strand in London.
On the day I went to see the show Hugh Jackman was off sick, but I did get to see him live on stage later at the same theatre when he was part of the cast of "Hey Mister Producer" 🤗😊

As a child in the 70s watching the 4pm Movie, I discovered Oklahoma. And as a music student, loved it. A R&H fan. I appreciate Mr. Jackman's talent; however, the original movie version is the Best. Remaster the quality of the film, improving color, sound etc... and offer limited showing. Some productions need not be reproduced! Or re-tooled as they say.. In my book, that re word means ruin. Some revivals are lovely, when preserving integrity of original production. When not, it's a flop! Now upon awakening let's all sing, Oh What a Beautiful Morning . 🌅🎶🎶🌅🌞

Anyone else suspected it was a deepfake video?

Pathetically poor comparison to the original.
