Episode 66: Quilt in a Day Scrappy Potato Chip Free & Easy Pattern #diy #quilting #quiltingtutorial

This truly is a make in a day scrappy potato chips quilt pattern. This whole quilt top is made from the famous scrap size called a potato chip - or 2.5" x 4.5" strips or use up those 5" squares and re-purpose into this fun and beginner friendly pattern. I do include a few tips to improve those crossover seams. All blocks measure 6.5 x 12.5" unfinished so really 21 blocks and it is done - a nicely sized travel, baby or as I am making wheelchair quilt (42 x 36 without borders).

BUT here is the fabric requirements incase you just want to get started, the layout for each block is included in this video - there are only two.

So let's get scrapping:
Quilt Size Without Borders approximately 42 x 36" or 36" x 42" (add or subtract rows or columns to make it your custom size). Totally adaptable to LARGER rectangle strips which will yield a larger quilt.
Block A:
Quantity 12 blocks each block uses 6 Dark and 3 Light
Total for 12 blocks: 72 Dark and 36 Light)
Block B:
Quantity 9 blocks each block uses 2 Dark and 7 Light
Total for 9 blocks 18 Dark and 63 Light
Dark 5" squares (or 40 2.5" x 4.5" sewn together for 4.5" squares)
