Georgia and Melissa Laurie were identical twins who got attacked by a 10 feet long saltwater crocodile while on vacation in Mexico. They were 28 years old at the time. They visited the Manialtepec lagoon and convinced a tour guide by the name of Recep Aydin, who has since disappeared, to take them on a boat trip down the lagoon. While there, they decided to swim in the water. It was then that Melissa noticed that the water temperature was changing. She had reached the point where saltwater was meeting freshwater. Within moments, a 10 feet saltwater crocodile attacked. Although Melissa tried to get away, the creature grabbed her and was trying to drown her. Thanks to her twin, who fought the creature by constantly hitting it on the head, Melissa did not die. She was taken to the hospital where she was treated for weeks. The creature left large scars all over her body, particularly on her stomach.
