Never felt so welcome/comfy in a video game village ever

I like to think Hateno village was the home of link before he met Zelda and the home he buys was his home in the past before he left for the castle.

I go to this town just to hear this theme.

One day when I'm old I'll find my switch and hear this song and the nostalgia from it will hit me like a train! :')

You can hear her Animal Crossing roots in this song and I love it. They picked the perfect person to compose this game.

I came back to Hateno one last time before I set off to Hyrule Castle to finally put an end to my 100+ hour long journey. The night song was playing. I cried.

Since coming to the village and purchasing my house, I've spent at least 2 to 3 blood moons just wandering around the surrounding wilderness, visiting the shops, dying my outfits and collecting apples for my horse. I've never felt such a strong compulsion to 'settle down' somewhere in a video game. It's like the main quest doesn't even exist for me :P

"Please be careful Link!" Yep, no worries Zelda, doin' just fine thanks.

Hateno village makes me wish that small towns like it existed as they were in reality. Peaceful and tranquil, friendly neighbors... just cozy and calm. No cares in the world. Our family can't even trust somebody knocking on the door...

Nintendo literally never fails in the music department when it comes to their games. Tunes like this are instantly nostalgic and bring you back to younger, easier days. This is my favorite track (so far) from what is already my favorite Zelda game of all time. From LOZ: A Link to the Past, all the way up to LOZ: Breath of the Wild, thank you Nintendo for all the memories :')

Not sure how a song I've never heard before can bring back memories but this takes me back to simpler times

Hateno Village is the new peaceful Kakariko village in my heart.

I'm convinced that house you buy used to be Link's house or atleast his Father's house. Like think about it:

Bolson (the guy who was tearing it down) mentioned the house had been abandoned for years and years. In other villages, no house is just "empty" it always belongs to someone. I'm thinking that the house used to belong to either Link or Link's Father 100 years ago. But when the Calmity happened, Link got put in the shrine of ressurection and his father mostly likely died. And in the dialouge options you can choose, Link seemed pretty eager to buy the house himself. "I can buy it!" "I'll pay!" It's like Link remembered subconsciously that THIS was his home!

In the final memory you have to discover in that Memory Quest, they were running toward Fort Hateno. I'm guessing that in the panic of trying to find a safe place for Zelda, Link thought of bringing her to Hateno Village. If you look at the map, Hateno is quite a ways away from Hyrule Castle. In his panic, his first instinct was to go home but he never made it because the Guardians were too quick and got their either before or at the same time as them while they were chasing them.

I just love the way the villages each have different atmospheres because of their music

Kakariko village has that feeling where you need to get to work, or do some shopping.
Hateno village is much more relaxed. It just feels like you're in paradise!

Nintendo, how do you manage to create such intriguing soundtracks?

That homage to the "Inside a House" theme from Ocarina of Time.
