Bring Back the Pollinators
Показать описание
Presented by Dave Kollen, Xerces Society.
How can we play a role in pollinator conservation, both in general and in our own landscapes and communities? Much has been said about pollinators and their importance in natural systems and our food system but the importance can’t be stressed enough. Let’s talk about the natural history, threats, conservation and especially what we can do in our own landscapes to create a more pollinator-friendly space. We’ll focus more particularly on native bees since they are by far the most important pollinator for angiosperms, thus our food supply. By focusing on this we not only serve pollinators, but native insects in general. Also, for those interested in going above and beyond, opportunities to get involved in community science activities are covered.
This event is co-hosted by NatureScaping of Southwest Washington and the Camas Public Library
