Cleiter Standing Stones Circle is an important part of the whole Standing Stones story and all the history and theories of their role in the islands past.
The circle is located at Cnoc nan Clach.
Cleiter is a cleared settlement (1838), situated just east of Sheildinish on the south shore of Loch Erisort. It is located at a strategic point, the entrance to the Pairc area, South Lochs, Outer Hebrides Scotland.
Recent archaeological research suggests that the small stone circles and standing stones discovered close by, links the area to the wider Neolithic ritual landscape extending to Calanais.
