Microcontroller LAB-Arduino-EXP7-Design Password check Security system by using Arduino
- Object of this experiment:
The object of this experiment to learn how using LCD to display and design the security system by using LCD and keypad.
- Theory:
introduction
LCD (liquid crystal display) is the technology used for displays in notebook and other smaller computers.
Like light-emitting diode (LED) and gas-plasma technologies, LCDs allow displays to be much thinner than cathode ray tube (CRT) technology.
LCDs consume much less power than LED and gas-display displays because they work on the principle of blocking light rather than emitting it.
The LCD can used in check password security system to display the password and Known if the password corrects or incorrect.
- Components of this experiment:
1-LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) (Digital Output)
A liquid-crystal display (LCD) is a flat-panel display that uses the light-modulating properties of liquid crystals. Liquid crystals do not emit light directly, instead using a backlight or reflector to produce images in color or monochrome.
LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screen is an electronic display module and find a wide range of applications.
A 16x2 LCD display is very basic module and is very commonly used in various devices and circuits.
These modules are preferred over seven segments and other multi segment LEDs. The reasons being: LCDs are economical; easily programmable; have no limitation of displaying special & even custom characters (unlike in seven segments), animations and so on.
The LCDs have a parallel interface, meaning that the microcontroller has to manipulate several interface pins at once to control the display.
- 2- Keypad (Digital Input)
A keypad is one of the most commonly used input devices in microprocessor applications. In a standard keypad wired as an X-Y switch matrix, normally-open switches connect a row to a column when pressed.
If a keypad has 12 keys, it is wired as 3 columns by 4 rows. A 16 key pad would have 4 columns by 4 rows.
