Red Devil Cichlid Aggressiveness (Growth Rate)

Aquarium Midas cichlids aggression levels can be mighty crazy. These fish can fight with tons of aggression. I’m not even sure what going to do. Tank mates will eventually get picked on or even killed. Fish tanks are fun until fish keep dying. Make the right decision when keeping aggressive fish together.

Never seen a Red Devil over 12 inches with another fish unless it was his girl and he fights her smh give him his own 75...

Mine was a reverse. He was really aggressive when he was smaller now he's about 8 inches and he lives with an auratus, 2 other mbunas, an oscar, and a female jack Dempsey. He is now the tank boss but he's very calm

Mine is a Pyschopath as well.. I had to put mine in his own tank. He was good and then just snapped overnight and almost killed my Male Convict. Mine is only 7 inches but he is growing at a fast rate. Love your Devils colors!

Your red devil is so calm.. I can't even put my hand up against the glass and mine wants to bite me.. I'll feed him and he will try to jump out and bite me. I have looked after my fish 110% since day 1 and always had him in his own corner where no one will try to piss him off or anything..

But he is super angry. He has his own 6foot/400l tank to himself and you got no chance putting a finger in the water.. I love him and I'll have him till the end but I wish he was more like this one and more calm

I adopted/ rescued a 1 year old red devil from a customer who had him abandoned in a half full, filthy tank w no filter.

I put him in my tank where I have my Oscar and Jag cichlid and since my Oscar is bigger, he tried to state his dominance with the Red Devil!

To make the story short, next day the Oscar looked as if some one had thrown them to the cat and returned him to the tank 2 hours later!

I though he was dead, I had to get a separate tank for Mr Red Devil, who showed absolutely no signs of fights.

Thankfully my Oscar recovered .

Chris I love your updates bud... I have just been looking through your comments and it’s the usual answers lol, I have come to learn that it’s trial and error somethings work for some that doesn’t work for others, I went to someone’s house the other week and they had a 6x2x2 tank with a 18 male Dovii, 2 14 inch Buttikoferi and a pair of Jags the male was 14 inches. Each fish was immaculate and get on really well. I was in shock lol. Keep up the great updates

I have a Red Devil that was big when I got him and now I've had him 13 years! I tried putting other fish his size in with him; he's in a 125 gallon tank, he attacks the other fish. He even killed a Plecostomous that was twice his size. So good luck. He's bit me too and drew blood.

I have a red devil & he is the biggest in the tank. He's with Jack Dempsey's, convicts, parrot fish, silver dollars & a fire mouth. Everyone pretty much gets along.
