Dubbing & ADR | New Features in Nuendo 12

ADR and dubbing in Nuendo 12 are the subject of several key new features. For Netflix content authoring, TTAL time text authoring files can be imported, you can map TTAL data and transform TTAL data events for the Netflix authoring toolchain. There is a new Create Markers From Events command, you can create marker attributes and use the new marker attribute filters, import csv files, use the new ADR API for external programs to interact with Nuendo 12’s marker system and more.

Ridiculously, it is still impossible to adjust the size and the position of the dialogue text displayed in the video player! I am not sure how is the text size adjustment you now added to the ADR panel supposed to be more important than having the same adjustment option for the video player. I upgraded to Nuendo 12 with a relief only to realize the setting changes the text size inside the ADR panel only.

We still cannot display the long dialogues in the video player for the talent to read from and have to compile a separate video with the burned-in subtitles to carry ADR sessions which becomes a pain when you want to quickly edit dialogues.

Can you please inform how many years will it remain as a problem especially for the ones using the ADR for video games where dialogues are arranged per file basis?

Does anyone know if I can finally display more text in the ADR window? I.e. I have a take that is longer than three sentences...

And still, you cant display the Take number onscreen or show black in pre or post with swipe to center. Please don't add more and more features without rethinking the ones you already implemented.
