Karlovy Vary - The Fairy Tale City Of The Czech Republic

When we were staying in Prague… we decided to take a day trip to the spa town of Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, in the west Bohemia region.

We knew about the James Bond film, Casino Royale… where filming took place at the Grand Hotel Pupp, in Karlovy Vary. It looked absolutely amazing so we thought we had to check out this magical town for ourselves.

Well, we have to say that Karlovy Vary did not disappoint… as it was like being in a fairy tale.

It’s so beautiful and all the old buildings are in amazing condition. It’s like walking into a candy store and seeing all the different colors on display. It actually looked like the whole town had received a fresh coat of paint.

It sure is breathtakingly beautiful.

Karlovy Vary is the most popular spa town in the Czech Republic, due to its numerous thermal springs. Thus, making it a popular destination since the 19th century.

Karlovy Vary is the largest spa complex in Europe… and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

If you’re ever in the Czech Republic, do what you can to put this majestic town in your itinerary… as we’re sure you won’t be disappointed.

Byłam w Karlowych Warach w okresie kwitnienia rododendronów, W rzece pływały duże czerwone ryby. Siedziałam na mostku i podziwiałam je - to chyba były karpie koi? Miasto - kurort mnie zachyciło. Polacam.

1: how do you get from Karlovy Vary City Centre to Diana lookout tower - and how long does it take?
2: I read, that there is a restaurant at the tower - can you recommend it?
