Malians definitely have a distinct set of tools to counter a Mongol dark age rush. Gold is one of the most vulnerable early game resources to mine, especially for civs who rely on it. It’s usually slightly further away from the TC at the start compared to food or wood and can’t rely on its direct arrow protection. Thankfully Donsos have that advantage of slightly better armor and the javelin to either hold off or outright stop any spear or outpost rush.

i adore all the anti siege from wam meanwhile lucifron with the amazing 30 wood/minute. Like wam was so ahead on eco but lucifron still had bigger numbers cus he just didn't care about the siege

The thing with Malians is to remember that they always have a bit better eco, there are invisible workers at pit mines and cow pastures

pretty ridiculous malians can be so far behind in eco quantity but still have same recource gather rate

My top 5 most annoying units in AoE4 nomination is the English villager. Villager rushes are too good with tower occupying gold :(

Not that lucifron didnt play well and use their units extremely well but its not like wam was playing poorly
