Winter the dolphin dies at 16

Winter touched the hearts of many. Now people are remembering her.

My daughter is really upset. She watched the movie million of times. We flew from UK to see Winter twice.
I’m glad we did it. Winter is such an inspiration.

😭she was literally my idol, yes an animal my idol. I’ve loved dolphin tale so much as a child and I was absolutely obsessed with Dolphin Tale. She gave me my love of dolphins. I met her once when I was younger and it was amazing.

I know that the aquarium has closed yesterday so the crew could grieve over Winter's passing, but the sweetest thing is, the people who loved her stopped by the aquarium to give flowers and cards for Winter, and I love that. Winter was a fighter, and I still love her, because she's watching over us while we are praying for her.

I cried, I loved winter so much. Dolphin tale is my favorite movie ever. Dolphins mean so so much to me and I always dreamed of going to see her but I guess ill only get to play with her in heaven someday. When I received the news I couldn't breath or move for a few seconds. I didnt want to believe it and it weighs heavy on my heart tonight. I started liking dolphin 's early hearing about her amazing rescue....She made me fall in love w/ dolphin's even more! It's such a miracle she was able to live a productive life! Winter was likely their most famous it said need to hear about winter I remember seeing her on TV in 2005I I was happy then when I seen her and I really did thought she was going to live forever I thought she was going to go a long way I loved the movie when I seen it and it just made me smile it made me happy you know I just thought she was going to live forever but my heart and prayers goes up to the staff who watched over and helped her over her first obstacle RIP 🙏🙏 WINTER YOU CROSSED OVER THAT RAINBOW BRIDGE ALSO FOR DOLPHINS

I loved both Dolphin Tale movies, and following Winter & Hope’s journey I’m so beyond saddened to hear that Winter passed away she was one of a kind and an inspiration to so many! She will forever be missed and never forgotten and her legacy and memory will live on through Hope and all the other dolphins at Clearwater Marine Aquarium. 🐬😢💔🥺
