Volcanoes get pretty strong, but strong enough to destroy the world? That kind of depends on what you think the end of the world means...

Just imagine minding your own business, then having your eardrums burst instantly without having a clue as to what happened, as well as probably feeling a huge shock in your chest. Then, looking around to see everyone else around you in the same state, clutching their ears. Just as you start to calm down and try to figure out what hell you've stumbled into, you see a gargantuan pillar of smoke in the horizon, growing ever larger. The sky only continues to darken and become more dismal in the days to follow, while you're still deaf and in pain.

Now imagine not knowing what a volcano is.

I'm not sure what would be more traumatizing - that, or recognizing a massive nuclear explosion in the distance nowadays.

*I did some real historic research in the Krakatoa volcano.*
*The tsunami of Krakatoa reached up to 100+ meters in some places.*
*Absolutely horrifying.*

*This volcano literally rebirthed itself and is now actively erupting.*

Fun fact: Have you ever wondered why Indonesia is overpopulated? Because Indonesia's soil is very fertile due to all that volcanic eruptions. Volcanic ashes are rich in potassium and phosphorus so it's actually a very good fertilizer. It's so weird these eruptions could kill us all but at the same time eruptions helps us to rebuild stronger.

This is exactly the reason why Indonesia doesn't need nuclear at all. Nature gave Indonesia tons already

One positive thing to come out of the Krakatoa explosion was the creation of a safe habitat for the last of Javan rhinos. Right across the sea from Krakatoa is the Ujong Kulon peninsula, part of the island of Java. The volcanic explosion caused most people living on the peninsula to abandon it. Over the years, the volcanic Ash enriched soil and the heavy rainfalls that the region receives gave birth to a nearly 500 km^2 large rainforest which harboured a wide variety of flora and fauna. Even as the population increased across Java, creating more pressure on the island's ecology, Ujong Kulon remained uninhabited. Thus, when Javan rhinos went extinct in the rest of Java, a small population remained in Ujong Kulon and it survives to this day, making Ujong Kulon the last stronghold of the Javanese rhinos.
