2:55, the Toyota Mirai now uses a modern Lithium, Nickel, Manganese, Cobalt; Li-ion battery. Although this video points out individual weights to make it seem light, in the end, the 2023 Mirai weighs more than the long-range Model 3 battery electric vehicle, 4255 lbs for the lightest Mirai and 4034 lbs for the Tesla Model 3 long range. And also uses 4 times more green energy than a battery electric vehicle. Imagine needing to install 4 times the solar or 4 times more wind turbines to drive the same distance. Green hydrogen is super expensive at today's price at many stations in CA at $36/kg. That's over 50¢/mile to drive. There are a lot of shortcomings to overcome before it becomes mainstream of even more than niche.

Toyota and Hyundai need to work on the hydrogen supply, storage, and delivery before trying to sell a car that's 50¢/mile to drive when gasoline is is 10¢/mile and BEVs are 3¢/mi.
