Fond memories in the 1960's we used to stop there for a beer (only 18) enroute to just north of Ensenada for suring.. food was always good...This was before the main road..just a two line road.

La Fonda has the same spanish style as the Yacht Club Hotel ( est 1929 ) Port Isabel, South Padre, stayed there many many Surf trips ( i live on North Padre ) rather than Hilton or other corporate beach front hotels, have caught '' The Cove '' ( inner ship channel break, only on perfect swell direction ) 4 times in 25 yrs., sad to say the Yacht Club Hotel fell into disrepair, and was finally bulldozed down a few yrs. back, saw on Thailand News Today you can now enter the country WITHOUT INJECTION of POISON i mean VAX !! but 10 day quarentine with, still a lot of hoops to jump thru, in country med insurance etc etc etc, not quite ready to FLEE Padre Island yet, now that its 78% and NOT 108% had enough SUMMER for this year !!!
