We proudly welcome Andy Anderson to the skate team. Not only can Andy hop onto a 32-stair handrail and handle massive transitions, he has an unmatched imagination for how to skate whatever he sees thanks to his foundation in freestyle. Filmed and edited by Mike Manzoori.

With cameos from Pierre-André Senizergues, owner and CEO of etnies, and Don Brown, our VP of marketing, watch Andy skate from our headquarters to the etnies skatepark in Lake Forest.

“I’m affiliated with etnies because it was the first skater-owned shoe company. It doesn’t get more OG than that,” said Andy Anderson.

Ryan Sheckler said, “Andy is the most unique and talented skateboarder! I get lost watching him skate, I am beyond excited to finally be on a team with him!”

“It is uncommon to cross paths with a young skater whose talents range from freestyle, street spots to transition that can bring it all together. Andy skates it all and appreciates all types of skateboarding roots,” said Pierre-André Senizergues, owner and CEO of etnies. “Andy skates with the highest level of trick difficulty! We are proud to welcome him to the etnies team.”

Due to the long harsh Canadian winters Andy grew up in, he turned to freestyle to satisfy his appetite for inventive skateboarding. Being anti-ollie in his early days, Andy’s trick selection is as unique as they come, blending an almost forgotten style of board control with a modern eye for where to ride.

Even if you aren't totally into his style of skating, you def have to give Andy a ton of credit. He's overcame quite a few hurdles & has challenged what's considered normal or even "cool" (The helmet, the board rails, the freestyle tricks). A mix of him doing what he wants & not letting trends and opinions dictate his skating, along with that he actually has an extremely solid foundation from basics all the way to advanced tricks, not only freestyle but transition AND Street skating. Honestly I'm glad hes helping change some of these outdated and "gate keeper" esq strangle holds that are on the skate community. When you get a bit older, and step back and think of all the weird stuff we tend to hate on and belittle (guilty myself!) You realize just how weird some of it is. Skating was always SUPPOSED to be about freedom of expression. When you start bogging it down with unwritten rules and labels of whats cool or not, it makes skating feel just like the jocky minded atmospheres most of us started skating to get away from! So I'm happy for Andy, I hope he keeps challenging the "norm" and most importantly, what some of us have forgotten how to do, HAVE FUN!!

Andy represents all that is good in skating. Hard work, being humble, knowing his roots, and not giving a damn what anyone thinks.

About time. Companies should be lining up to sponsor Andy. I can't keep my eyes off of him when he skates. His knowledge about skating is second to none. He also seems like a down-to-earth person. I wish him the best.

We are witnessing history right now in skateboarding. Andy is progressing the sport in out of the box ways that only few have been able to do. Thank you Andy.

Watching Andy just skate down the street is a view into the heart and soul of everything that is good and pure about skating.

Etnies is wise for scouting out Andy. Dude is the truth. The amount of control he has is incredible. His ability to adapt to whatever terrain he's skating is effortless and it's a blast to watch. Big ups Andy! Sky's the limit now!! 🤘

I honestly think Andy has the broadest skill set in skateboarding, discounting no skater up until now. He really can do just about everything, and even some things no one else can do. He’s incredibly entertaining to watch and I can’t wait to see what he pulls off in the future.

Glad to see the community becoming less toxic and learning to appricate each others unique skills. plus mans wearing helmet good influence on the youth. In my Generation I was bullied just for doing boneless' down stair sets. I kept doing them though. because those people just needed to learn to fuck off and let me be me. Cheers lads!
