The last adventure. It's crazy to think how much has changed since Raiders of the Lost Ark came out. That movie, along with of course Star Wars and Jaws forever changed filmmaking. What started off as simply an attempt to honor old adventure serials has changed how adventure stories are made.
Raiders brought back classic escapist movies, Temple of Doom created the PG-13 rating, Last Crusade brought in real emotional stakes, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull really brought into question if these adventures can still sustain themselves in a different world.
The Dial of Destiny looks like it is honoring all of that. All that Indiana Jones, as a character and a series, have been through.

anyone moaning about "time travel" being in this film need to remember the ghosts in raiders, the entirety of temple, the 800 year old knight in crusade and of course the interdimensional beings in skull

not to mention indy literally travels to another dimension in the game "infernal machine"
