Does Xylitol gum work? I decided to try it for 30 days after many comments on my past Xylitol video recommended me try it out. Long story short, yes it does work and it did keep my oral hygiene pristine throughout the day. So keep watching if you want to learn about the experiment I did, the products I used and also my hypothesis as to why Xylitol gum worked and Xylitol pulling didn't work.

The person who created and sells the Zellie’s gum and mints is a retired dentist who has been preaching the benefits of xylitol for decades. She also has a “complete mouth care system” (a selection of recommend products that you can buy in most US grocery stores), which she lists for free on her website. She also has a YouTube channel where she talks about her system, xylitol, and related topics. Search for Dr. Ellie Phillips to find her.

Note:
Per Dr. Ellie, drinking water essentially washes away the good bacteria you worked so hard to create with the xylitol. It’s best to have your xylitol AFTER drinking or eating anything, including water, to generate saliva and stimulate good bacteria production, creating and maintaining a healthy biofilm in your mouth.

Dr Rhonda Patrick was on Joe Rogan and she talked about having 2 cavities when she was pregnant, and how she "accidentally" reversed them by chewing xylitol gum every day all day during her pregnancy. Her dentist had never seen anything like it.

I personally like to purchase the Zellie's because I like to support Dr. Ellie's work. Her system totally reversed the sensitivity I had in my teeth. I also don't accumulate any plaque on my teeth anymore. I buy from her website in largest value size and she sends coupon codes too.

The 600 pcs bag of Zellies save you a lot.
If you go for the PUR, stick with the Spearmint flavor, they're the only ones without counterproductive ingredients for your goal.
Try to don't chew for too long because it can reduce your saliva, within 5 minutes is ok.
Afterward, don't eat or drink for as long as possible to maximize the effects of your saliva (with xylitol), because continuously sipping water would negate them.
If you breathe through your mouth sleeping, try mouth taping; it also helps with oral hygiene and, in the long run, the re-mineralizing effect of xylitol✌🏼

I would definitely pay more for the Zellie’s gum. The texture and flavor lasts. I hate when gum gets hard and I tend to chew gum for over an hour especially when I am driving. Zellie’s has great flavor that lasts and doesn’t get hard. Glad I found Zellie’s gum

I loved your video! I accidentally stumbled upon the benefits of Xylitol about 6 months ago by watching videos by Dr. Ellie. I don't follow her system in it's entirety, but I have still been absolutely blown away by the results I've had in such a relatively short period of time. I feel like 6 months of using Xylitol has rolled back 10 plus years of damage in my gums and teeth!

Only use PUR spearmint because the other flavors have glycerol/glycerin that Dr. Ellie said she does not want people to put in the mouth.
She also said that 5g to 6g of her mints are needed daily but not more. Check the g per day because xylitol can give diarrhea. So pop 2 mints after each meal and make sure you get at least 5g a day.
For PUR, if the g is per gum as in 2g a gum, then that is enough per meal and make sure to take 6g so 3 gums a day. Make sure to spread it out.

I got into contact with a pharmacy where I bought my Xylitol chewing gum from regarding plastics. They told me, even though it was NOT mentioned in the ingredient-list, there are plastics (polymeres) in the chewing material! So guys be aware if you try to have healthy testosterone levels

All fruits have Xylitol in them plus lots of good minerals. It is a custome in our culture (Iran/Persia) that we have a few fruits during the day specially after dinner while chatting to each other. Maybe that's your next project to try it for a month and see the result. Just make sure to use test organic fruits for a month and maybe non-organic for another month to see the result on your body.
Overall thanks for going extra miles to create these really good contents. 🙏

These are found everywhere in Sweden. From grocery stores to drugstores.

I did not know they were these good! Actually I thought quite the opposite. 😲

Frequency is the key. Pulling once or twice a day will not give you noticeable results. Trive for five. All studies show that the more times of exposure is more important than the amount. 6 to 10 grams is the recommended amount per day.

Dr Ellie Phillips has great videos on this & is the owner of Zellies company. She put together a whole system using products you buy from the store. Also Incorporating the Zellies mints. I started taking those & my dental hygienist just said, “ well you had less plaque, so you are doing something different. “. I just said Aha & left it at that. If they ask what you’re doing differently, I would just say rinsing with Listerine mouth wash, which IS part of the oral care system I’m using. BTW, she also says constantly sipping water also wears down the enamel. We all need hydration but, It can also wear the teeth if you do it all day long. That Is why Dr Phillips says when you take any Xylitol, you should try not to eat or drink anything for at least an hour. Because even drinking water disrupts the correct PH of your saliva that helps heal your teeth. You can use Xylitol up to 5 times a day. The xylitol crystals can be diluted in water first before using. But I really enjoy the mints, because you can just eat those 2 at a time.

"...whereas erythritol ALSO distinctly inhibited the growth of some S. mutans strains during later growth phases." - this implies that erythritol is a lot better (compared to xylitol) because it not only performs similarly to xylitol but also offers the additional benefit of inhibiting bacterial growth at the end of the growth cycle. Amazing!

I don't know about xylitol pulling but from what I know about how and why xylitol work is exposure. Also you CHEW the mint like you chew the gum. You don't suck it. The mint is better than the gum in my opinion haha. Like if you snack throughout the day, drinks soft drinks throughout the day the more exposure of bad stuff the more likely you get cavity, plaque, tartar. Xylitol works the same way. Expose your teeth to it 4-5 times a day and you'll be golden. Just 1 exposure for 10min in some pulling session isn't going to do much good I don't think. After you eat something chew a xylitol gum or mint. It should then prevent bacteria sticking to your teeth or harming your teeth.

My bf went from 2 different dentist telling him he's very likely going to need a root canal to just monitor it. After I made him take xylitol 5 times a day. He still only just brush his teeth once a day. LOL... I mean he's just 1 person. But I have never had any sign of tooth decay, I don't floss, I don't get dental cleaning. Dentist always tells me I don't need to do anything. So I really think the key is really in exposure frequency. I however have always had immaculate dental health so I can't say xylitol has reversed anything for me but for my bf it totally has.

Dr. Ellie Phillips say don't drink water all day. One has to take all these advise-givers on UT with a grain of salt.

think about using something like "miswaak" brushing stick throughout the day. it promotes the idea of maintaining oral hygiene throughout the day rather than a bolus of care at the ends of the day.

"Oh my gum" is a great xylitol gum brand, as well. Thanks for the video :)

I’m in total agreement with you. I’ve been using PÜR gum for over a month and am very pleased with the results. I’m doing my own experiment on myself incorporating xylitol and also toothpaste with nano-hydroxyapitite.
