Rehabilitated Sea Turtles Return to Gulf From Freezing Texas

These sea turtles are sliding back into the Gulf of Mexico after being rescued from Texas’ cold snap 🐢

More than 200 sea turtles were released back into the Gulf of Mexico after being rescued and rehabilitated during Texas' freezing temperatures.

The turtles rescued by Texas Sealife Center had to pass a veterinary health clearance and swim test before being released into the Gulf. There are 75 juvenile sea turtles remaining that need further care.
