Ukraine Flag in Urozhaine, 'Complications' in Kupyansk, Russia “Kills Five in Bryansk Incursion”

Ukraine has released a video that shows its soldiers raising the Ukrainian flag near a memorial in Urozhaine. The video comes after Ukraine claimed that it has liberated the settlement in eastern Donetsk. Ukraine also acknowledged complications around the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region amid a Russian assault. Russia said it foiled a second Ukrainian incursion into the southwestern Bryansk region on August 16 in as many days. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has said that Russian troops are able to very successfully burn the Western equipment. Medvedev added that Western techniques should not be underestimated. However, he said that the Russian servicemen “very successfully burn” equipment and will continue to do so. Medvedev was speaking during a visit to an exhibition of captured Western equipment. Ukraine’s Presidential Adviser Mykhailo Podyliak has called for an end to “any direct communications” with top Russian leadership. Podolyak called for the end to direct communications with Kremlin as a way to “accelerate a fair end of the war”.

I have to question this report from Urozhaine. From what I see on the map, the village is east of Bakhmut, located deep behind the Russian lines of defense in an area controlled with little resistance by Russian forces. How did Ukrainian soldiers get there and have the time to raise this flag ? And even if they did, how could it have been anything more than a publicity stunt of a few people, as it seems highly unlikely that a Ukrainian force could capture a village deep inside Russian held territory without first having to had fought for days to get there.
