The moment when General Ashdown nods his head down in disapproval, right after being told “we have destroyed ourselves” that feeling of defeat and imminent destruction, not being able to do anything about it but wait for the impact.

That aircraft was probably built for this one task.

The machines knew that the resistance would only fall for this once. And they knew they were hunting a nuclear submarine. They probably also knew the precise technical details, if it was originally American. Since it would have been one of the first things Skynet knew about.

And since this machine had just one shot, I can imagine that it deployed everything. From powerful torpedoes, to sonar drones, to maybe even nuclear weapons. It wouldn't surprise me to learn that it could even submerge. If that were absolutely necessary to get close enough to the sub to take it out.

From the moment this film started, that heavy-duty HK would have been waiting. Fully fuelled and ready to race to wherever that signal originated.

This is why submarines are not allowed to transmit, only receive.

The Russian commander was really respectful to John Connor. He didn't deserve to die along with General Arrogant.

NOW he's the leader of the resistance. Nice thing about being in a resistance, lots of upward mobility.

John Connor: We’re not Going to make it, Humans i mean

Terminator: it’s in your nature to “Destroy yourselves”

General: We have Destroyed Ourselves

This movie really showed how humanity actually could’ve mounted a realistic offensive, the other más humans look like underdogs. This shows that an effective resistance was mounted

I thought this was pretty shocking. A HK shows up and destroys a significant portion of the human resistance with a single torpedo. The anticlimax was what made it shocking. Am I the only one?

I feel bad for Losenko and the others they didn't deserve to die but Ashdown was a jerk and an idiot I don't like him he didn't listen to John Connor and wanted to kill innocent people instead of getting them out before blowing up Skynet! He's no better than a Terminator! Cold and heartless!

Isn't it a bit idiotic for the Resistance to centralize their entire command structure on a single fragile target instead of multiple HQs?

I'd thought SkyNet would have released 1000s if not millions of tiny listening drones underwater already to find it

Tactical victory for skynet.
Strategic victory for human resistance.

"You arrogant ass! You've killed us!"

By now General Ashdown would be in the afterlife regretting his poor decisions. Even if he is alive and that John's plan does succeed with the mission, he would condemn him and see him as a false idol which is bad enough. Although, the resistance would be against Ashdown and praise John.

They should have done an emergency dive as soon as they detected the HK coming.

Goodbye, Gen. Arrogant, you should have listened to John Connor instead of dismissing him.

It’s too bad someone didn’t warn them about this issue.

After that explosion, Ironside probably only lost an arm.

This was my second favorite scene. The first favorite was when John Conner met his father Kyle Reece for the first time

The USS Wilmington has fallen, mission failed. Resistance have lost the battle, and will not lose this conflict.
