Synopsis

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures "Marvel's The Avengers" — the superhero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Description

On Earth, Nick Fury and Maria Hill are called to the Joint Dark Energy Mission Facility in the Mojave Desert where the Tesseract is being researched by Erik Selvig. The Tesseract has recently begun emitting strange quantities of energy on its own accord, prompting the facility to be evacuated. Before any necessary precautions can be made, the Tesseract activates, opening a portal from which Loki appears. Announcing his intention to conquer Earth, Loki steals the Tesseract and uses the Scepter, given to him by the Other, to enslave the minds of Selvig, Clint Barton and several S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, aiding him in his getaway. Despite the efforts of Fury and Hill to stop him, Loki escapes. In response to the attack, Fury reactivates the Avengers Initiative.

And this is why Clint sympathizes with Bucky: He knows what it is to be brainwashed, to have someone poking inside your mind and forcing you to do bad things, basically becoming the pawn in someone else's game.

Its so obvious that he was tortured by thanos. Look at him so torn apart, especially his eyes.

Bruh I feel disappointed in myself that I didn’t realize that the entire film Loki’s eyes emerge blue from being mind controlled

The way Loki looks so wrecked … pale, psychopathic eyes … a true depiction of a man gone insane.

I'd like to point out that pretty much every plan that was "Loki's", was actually Clint's. Watch the deleted scene, and you find out that Clint was the one who gave Loki the plan of setting himself up to be captured after he gave him all the information on the Avengers to perfectly pull them apart. Loki is still physically and mentally drained from being tortured, and Clint is the one with the line of sight who made the plans. Pretty interesting to know that if Hawkeye decided to take down S.H.I.E.L.D., he could probably do it.

“Of a world made free of freedom” sounds like something a member of Hydra would say

The best scene of the movie in my opinion😅

All of the main, original Avengers in this movie are manipulated in some way by Scarlet Witch, with the exception of Hawkeye. Hawkeye was the only member of The Avengers to be under the mind control of Loki in The Avengers (2012).

Loki seems to have a preoccupation with mind control (see latest Loki episode).

Crazy how media sites are putting out op-eds on "why freedom is bad" nowadays. Just ten years after this scene came out.

I wish the mind control was permanent!

Why didn't Loki use the Scepter on Thor? He could've used him to kill The Avengers. Maybe it's because Thor's mind is tough to control. I'm not sure. EDIT: Maybe Loki could make Thor kill himself, then he could rule Asgard and Earth, but he'd probably still have to face Thanos eventually.

Does anyone feel bad that Dr. Selvig got his mind freaked by a god from his childhood. How do you get over that. It’s like if Jesus came down in the flesh and kidnapped Captain America. How do you deal with that paradigm shift lol.
