BMW X5M F85 Idle problem on start (cold start mostly)

2018 BMW X5m F85. As soon as you start the engine, rpm go up and down until it warms up.
Anyone had this issue? Please leave comments below if you have fix

Had this issue for months till I read a post in a chat where the person was having the same issue. The solution was to do the following... On a cold engine, disconnect the MAF sensor. Start and run the engine till it's at normal operating temperature (I did and had no warnings on the dash while the MAF was disconnected). Turn off the engine and plug in the MAF sensor. Let the car sit and go back to cold engine. Start the car and should not have that issue going forward. I went through this same thing and it resolved my idle drop at cold start. Hope this helps.

TRY THIS: dont step on the brake and start the car right away. When first getting in the car, press the start button with foot OFF of the gas peddle. Let it sit for 20sec+ then turn it on. That helped me with my problem. Guess car needs to warm up before turning on

Whoever said problem is gasoline was right. Just go buy fuel system/injector cleaner at your local bmw dealer and add it every other tank fill up and you won’t have this problem no more

This is a very common problem across multiple models, no one knows, I changed spark plugs and coils, no difference. My car drives otherwise fine, has done it since new. Huge mystery, very common on n55.

Have the same issue with my F85. BMW dealership updated software, changed trottle body, some rubber sealing (for luck under warranty) and still doing it. Now waiting for injectors change to see if will fix it 😞

bad gasoline, I had it like that, changed the gas station, everything went well. but there may still be a crankcase ventilation membrane

Mine does same thing. But it sounds like it’s misfiring and stumbling for a second. Also when the o2 enters closed loop the rpms dip to almost stall then comes back. Plugs just changed. Coils next.

My f10 M5 15k miles was doing an oil change and you could smell gasoline, had a rough idle and would stall, dealer changed injectors & sparks plugs, got lucky with warranty as it expired 2 days before going into service

What exactly is the problem? Can't hear or see any problems at all. No ECL or delayed start.

My M3 and X5M both did this. It was a bad ignition coil in the X5M and a bad 02 sensor and Coil in the M3.
