Top tips for Notting Hill Carnival

The Notting Hill Carnival is back for the first time in three years this Bank Holiday Weekend.

For decades the Carnival has been running in west London's streets and it is one of the world’s biggest, and most electrifying, outdoor events.

This year, BBC London has put together a guide to this year's Carnival, with some top tips about the big weekend.

This Notting Hill 'Carnival' is something to be avoided. The atmosphere is constantly tense with a feeling that some trouble, violence or crime is going kick-off at any moment. I would be worried for anyone I know who might want to attend. I went once, it was a horrible experience and my friends got mugged and nearly lynched by a nasty, vile gang. The only tip is: DON'T GO.

If you're a girl, bring friends and look out for each other constantly. The number of women who got "daggered" and laughed it off when its actual sexual assault is concerning. Police didn't take it seriously either... but then, it is the police.

To the BBC. You mentioned on your news item today about a Bus Stop collapsing. These were the words of your reporter. "Oh, two things did go wrong. A bus stop collapsed and a Horse dropped over, due to exhaustion." When I saw the footage of the people walking below the collapsed bus stop, I was saddened. No laughter! Pure shock. Your reporter made it seem like Bus Stop collapsed will be fixed later! Their was a guy who was walking underneath. His head bent to the side due to the force of the stop falling on his head. There were injuries! I want to know if all those people are ok! If Police people got crushed we would never hear the end of it. Please when reporting. Find out about the full story. I am sure Families want to know that their loved ones are safe. NO matter where they may be. Come on BBC! You want our money and your reporting can sometimes be atrocious. 😡😢
