Description of this episode:

Lewy body dementia (LBD) is often misunderstood, misdiagnosed, or overlooked, yet it affects millions worldwide. Join me as I explain one of the complicated types of dementia. In this week’s episode, we’ll explore Lewy body dementia, understand its symptoms, causes, stages, and how it can be treated.

WHAT IS LEWY BODY DEMENTIA?

Lewy Body Dementia (LBD) is characterized by abnormal protein deposits in the brain, leading to chemical changes and the death of brain cells. This results in various challenges with movement, balance, thinking, behavior, and mood. One key feature of LBD is the fluctuation in cognitive ability, making it challenging to determine the disease's stage.

DO YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF LEWY BODY DEMENTIA?

Symptoms of Lewy body dementia include memory problems, confusion, strange body movements, sleep disorders, hallucinations, and dizziness. People with LBD may experience auditory or vivid visual hallucinations, which can be distressing or gentle, depending on the image they are seeing. This type of dementia also affects the body's automatic functions, causing issues like changes in blood pressure, temperature sensitivity, and loss of smell.

WHAT CAUSES LEWY BODY DEMENTIA?

While the cause of Lewy body dementia remains unknown, it involves abnormal clumping of a protein called alpha-synuclein in areas of the brain responsible for thinking and movement. These clumps, known as Lewy bodies, interfere with the production of neurotransmitters, resulting in issues with muscle movement, memory, and thinking abilities.

CHALLENGES IN DIAGNOSING LEWY BODY DEMENTIA

Diagnosing Lewy body dementia can be tricky. Its symptoms can be similar to those of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease. Typically, a team of specialists, including primary care providers, neurologists, and psychiatrists, is needed for a thorough evaluation. Diagnostic tests may include cognitive assessments, brain scans, blood tests, and sleep studies.

Thank you for your videos. My Mom has had Lewy Body dementia for about 3 years. It was a gradual change but these past few months she seems to be in stage 6. There are days she remembers things from the past and we have a good laugh, then she will ask when we are going home I asked her what is home to her, it is the home we lived in since I was 7. I'm 52 now. We have bernard loving in an apt together for the past 7 years. She sees bunnies, birds when there are only leaves, a tall man in black with a black straw hat, but she isnt afraid. It is an adventure. I love her so much. We are both widows. She has all the symptoms of stage 6. I will be with her until thw end to help her through to her next journey. ❤

I'm a caregiver and aspiring nurse. I've been looking for information about dementias, specifically Parkinsonian dementia, to better understand my client who presents with the entire constellation of symptoms associated Parkinson's. His case is very well-advanced and there is just SO much going on that I need to learn more. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks.

My father has had medical issues for the past 30 years. Back problems degenerative disc disease a bunch of other stuff. A few years back he fell and hit his head and was in the hospital. He was told he had a bunch on lesions on the 🧠, they said he has MS. He is also starting to hear a cat in our garage, sees a cat in our house, he's have visual and audio hallucinations and if I tell him it's not happening he gets really mad like I'm calling him a list. It's getting really hard to deal with. He never told his Dr about this stuff so I went with him and told the dr and he got mad. He doesn't want to come to grips with having dementia...what should I I'm 40 he's 66.

Melissa can people who developed schizophrenia relatively early in life (early mid 20s) ever find love or date? Is it integral for us to tell the person we might date about our condition on the first date? I am a well presenting person with schizophrenia. I have lost several years to it and feel i could start living my life again now as i did receive medication for it. Is it forgivable for me to withhold information from the people i like? For how long?

Satan’s inspired label”dementia”is really at a God level with the real human in heart intuition Jesus..

“Someone who didn’t value soul or get soul over their life, didn’t expose all of who they are in heart vulnerability, didn’t process their traumas & emotions, avoided their truths, didn’t process what needed to be, just couldn’t show the vulnerability of who they really are.

***So when you stay stuck mind strong, hiding in the mind, how would you get soul & heart vulnerability?

A mind can’t do vulnerability only someone in heart can, that’s the karma that it is.

Satan in hell reality(earth experience reality in the hologram you are in) inspires/possesses people to stay in mind, i(i’m not Jesus i as in him)want people in heart vulnerability to be free, with true salvation & a saved soul & have the joy of just letting everything hang out just real.“

True salvation & a saved soul is having an ongoing relationship with the real human Jesus in heart intuition to see how he really sees & values & truths for you.
