Cemal, Kenan i Suzi są rodzeństwem, które dorastało

Cemal, Kenan and Suzi are siblings who grew up in
a tiny Turkish village. They have grown apart since
leaving home, going their separate ways. After 30
years of silence, they get an unexpected call from
their father, who demands they return immediately.
The task of bringing back his brother and sister falls
to the eldest: Cemal the frustrated astronaut with
no practical experience. For all three, this will be
a trip back to places and memories they have been
working hard to forget. Even so, they take on the
challenge of piecing their dysfunctional family back
together and confronting their past. They set off on
a nostalgic journey during which they will learn
a lot, mainly about themselves. An inventive, warm
dark comedy that promises the unexpected: from
an astronaut to exploding chickens. Winner of the
Grand Jury Prize at Sundance 2018 and awards at
a number of other festivals, including Istanbul and
Ankara.

Tolga Karaçelik

Turecki reżyser, producent, operator, pisarz
i scenarzysta. Urodzony w Stambule w 1981
roku. Studiował prawo w Turcji, następnie
przeniósł się do Nowego Jorku, gdzie rozpoczął
studia filmowe. Jako reżyser zadebiutował
filmem „Toll Booth” (2010), za który
otrzymał trzynaście nagród na festiwalach
na całym świecie (WFF 2011). Jego drugi
film, „Ivy” (2015), miał premierę na festiwalu
Sundance, a także był prezentowany na festiwalach
w Toronto, Karlowych Warach, Săo
Paulo, czy Sydney. Jego ostatni film, „Kelebekler”
(2018), brał udział w Sundance Lab
oraz CineLink Co-Production Market. Film
otrzymał główną nagrodę w ramach World
Cinema Dramatic Competition na festiwalu
Sundance oraz wiele innych nagród.

Turkish director, producer, cinematographer,
writer and scriptwriter. Born in Istanbul in
1981. He studied law in Turkey and then
moved to New York to study film. His directorial
debut “Toll Booth” (2010) won thirteen
awards around the world (WIFF 2011).
His second film “Ivy” (2015) premiered at
Sundance and was shown at many festivals,
including Toronto, Karlovy Vary, Săo
Paulo and Sydney. His latest film “Butterflies”
(2018) was selected for the Sundance
Lab and CineLink Co-Production Market to
finally win the Grand Jury Prize in the World
Cinema Dramatic Competition at the Sundance
Film Festival.
