Visiting the Great City of Quito, Ecuador for the first time!

Quito, Ecuador is one of the great cities of the world. With a long and storied history dating back thousands of years and spanning the rise and fall of several empires and civilizations, Quito is awash in historically significant sites to visit. We arrive in this great city after a rainy bus ride from our stop-over in Riobamba, and after a day or two settling in, we head out to see the historical center of this wonderful city. Come along!

Welcome to Quito, and thanks to read about the history of the city prior to be here.
Just a little remark here, Quito is not a little one, only the central high flatland is 372 km2, but the metropolitan area of Quito extends about 4218Km2. Just search for it on wikipedia. However, Quito is by far not as populated as other capitals, so it gives people more air to breath...
It is difficult to have a correct idea of the dimensions of the city from the ground, you have to climb to the TeleferiQo to have overlook its extension.
