You are 100% right about Delilah S. Dawson, Phasma was one of my biggest surprises from Canon. Not the best, but the most surprising, considering that I had no expectations and I was hooked from the first page and wasn't able to put it down at all.

You are also right, Jonh Jackson Miller should have more space in the new releases, Kenobi is one of my favorite books too.

To add to the underrated I would add Christie Golden for sure, I haven't read her FOTJ books yet, but Battlefront II and Dak Disciple are absolutely in my top 10.

Finally, I would say that Cavan Scott has gained interest in the last year and I'm very happy about that. I loved Doooku: Jedi Lost, I was skeptical of the script format at first, but you get used to it and the story is really interesting and it's a great bridge to the High Republic era.

I’ve only read Anderson’s Jedi Academy trilogy, but I really enjoyed it. It was actually one of my first EU experiences as well, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I’m very interested in Miller as well. I’ve only read Kenobi but that was absolutely excellent.

I think one of my picks would be Cavan Scott, even though I’ve only read The Rising Storm. But that one was so great that it single-handedly made him one of my favorites. And maybe Drew Karpyshyn as well, although it’s debatable whether he’s really underrated. But I don’t see him get the same praise as the likes of Timothy Zahn, Claudia Gray, or Michael Stackpole, so I guess I’d count him. The Darth Bane trilogy is arguably my favorite book series in Star Wars, and he also wrote Knights of the Old Republic which is my favorite Star Wars thing ever

Allston is one of my favorites. Loved the Wraiths, two of my top NJO books, and Betrayal was such a good beginning for Legacy. Sadly, Mercy Kill was his last before passed and was probably his weakest entry. He definitely deserves more praise, but with his passing he's probably out of sight/out of mind.

KJA - I'm actually reading through the YJK series right now. You're right, he's fun.

JJM - it's funny how Kenobi is so well regarded and yet it's been so long since he's had a Star Wars book.

I've been putting off reading Crash of Fate and Black Spire in favor of others, but I'm definitely moving both up the TBR after your assessment.

Adding to Allston and JJM, rounding out my top 5 would be Karen Miller, Christie Golden, and Paul S. Kemp.

Karen Miller, to my knowledge, only has three Star Wars books, but they are three of my absolute, all-time favorites: Wild Space and the two Gambits.

Christie Golden had three entries in the Fate series plus Dark Disciple is one of my top 5 entries in the...ahem...new continuity (I abhor the other word).

Paul S. Kemp writes good dark side stuff. Deceived from the Old Republic is one of my favorite "standalones" and Lords of the Sith in the new continuity.

You putting Cordova here has me more excited for her High Repulic adult novel. I hadn't heard of her before
they announced the new HR Phase, but I'll try to read her Crash of Fate book before Phase start per your recommendation.

I have heard great things about Allstons X-Wing series and it's on my plan to read list, but not currently a high priority.

John Jackson Millers A New Dawn was the first book I ever read in the Star Wars universe, shit it was the first book I read in 20 years
and kickstarted my love for reading last year. Kenobi is also one of the best slices of media I have consumed, it's truly amazing.

As for another underrated author I think maybe Christie Golden is worth a mention. I have only read Dark Disciple and Inferno Squad, but
thought they both were very good, Dark Disciple being one of my favorite SW novels. Haven't read her Fate of the Jedi series but it's
on my extremely long Plan To Read list.

You should have more subscribers because I know there's a good Star Wars and Star Trek readership out there.

3:52 you mention that the choice to keep the injury pays of in the future. What moment comes to your mind when you say that? It's been a while since I've gone from beginning to end of legends and the moment I can't remember a particular moment it comes through. Obviously enemies underestimate her and she continues to whoop their ass through legends but that isn't a really pivotal moment. I know it's a big question

You are right about Alston. I remember wes Jenson and garik "face" loran as being two of the funniest characters in legends.

Allston I would say wasn't underrated, but opinions. RIP. The news of his death left a void in SW, that mostly hasn't been filled imo.
JJM has some great Sith related stories. I adore the Lost Tribe stories. Much more engaging than their content in FOTJ imo. And can't forget the KOTOR Comics. Top 2 best comic in SW imo.
KJA can be polarizing. The Jedi Academy trilogy was my first foray in SW novels. So great seeing the formation of the New Jedi Order. Does he have some weird stuff? Yes, but no weirder than some of the other things out there.
